HeartCode® Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a self-directed, blended learning course for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients.
After registering and paying, providers will be e-mailed a unique link within one to three business days (Mon-Fri) to begin the online course. Access to the PALS Provider Manual eBook (20-3120) is included and can be accessed from within the course. Upon successful completion of all online coursework, providers then schedule a hands-on skills session with Medstar's AHA PALS Instructor for full course completion. We are currently scheduling hands-on sessions 3 to 5 business days out.
Course Duration: Due to the adaptive technology used in this course, the completion time for the online portion varies based on the provider’s self-assessment and knowledge of the cognitive material. The hands-on session can take up to 5 hours.
